Rebecca Chuffo-Siewert

Rebecca Chuffo-Siewert has worked in the field of neonatology for 27 years. She has spent many years caring for sick and preterm infants and their families. Her career in the NICU started in 1985 where she worked as a staff nurse until becoming a clinical nurse specialist in 1990. She continued to work as a clinical specialist and staff nurse in the NICU while returning back to school to become a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and finishing her Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree. Rebecca Chuffo-Siewert joined the College of Nursing at the University of Iowa in 2003 as an Assistant Professor and the director of the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Program. In 2012 she was promoted to Associate Professor. She continues to work as an NNP at the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital and hold a dual appointment in the Neonatology Division.

Rebecca Chuffo-Siewert has had numerous publications and manuscripts published in her field along with gathering supportive research as a principal investigator in some NICU open trials.
